Think of a Title at the End of the Article!

Hi Everybody,

I finally have some transition related news to write about, but first, is there anyone out there?  Rap, Rap, Rap… is this thing on?  I’ve only been writing this blog for a few weeks, and I know these things take some time to get around, and I’ve not actually been furiously digging into my stats or Analytics logs, but geez people, I’m human, I’m not make of stone, I need a little feedback – good, bad or anything but indifferent.  I’m also pretty new to Facebook and Twitter and YouTube, and I’ve only recently come out to the online community, but I’ve been out there visiting and commenting on every transition site I can find featuring a topic that peaks my interest.  But that’s my problem not yours, I’m just impatient, and I’m just saying.  Anyway, down to business.

Still Waiting for the Doctor’s Call

That’s pretty much that; if you’ve read my previous posts (come on, I haven’t read them) you know that I’ve been waiting hear from doctor, my GP, concerning references and my transition path forward since July 2nd.  Well I’m still waiting, and it’s still driving me crazy, but this week, in the mean time, I’ve been actively making calls, driving where I need to drive and actually getting a few things done – after all, it is my transition, my happiness, my life.

Rethinking My Grand Transition Plan Timetable Thingy from Last Week

Last week, or earlier this week, I listed my big 10 point plan for my successful transition; a listing of the procedures and process, the things I needed to do and get done in a nice neat chronological order.  Well, that’s a crap now.  Yesterday, kind of on a whim, kind of out of curiosity from different thing I’ve read on line or heard on YouTube, I downloaded a copy of my health insurance benefits package to see if my thinking about what I could afford and what I could not was on track before I get too deep into my plans or before I meet with anymore physicians.  Item number 10 on my big list was SRS, with a note that I more than likely will never be able to afford it, and that, in America, my insurance company would surely never cover it.  The I downloaded my aforementioned benefit package, and to my surprise – surprise is an understatement here people, to my surprise SRS was listed as COMPLETELY COVERED, with the proper pre-certifications – think Harry Benjamin, but COMPLETELY COVERED.  So, figuring I downloaded the wrong benefits package or just forgot the fine points of the English language, I called the insurance company.  After navigating the automated answering system, I spoke with an actual human girl (woman?), who was all typical operator efficient until I mentioned that I was transgendered (which was the first time I did that on the phone and naturally involved a lot of sweating), the operator when from casual detachment to the most loving caring individual I’d every spoke with on the phone.  And then, after posing the SRS question, she assured me that my specific plan did indeed cover SRS and all of the other typical MTF procedures comely necessary for a successful transformation.  I don’t know how I managed to end the call.  My World changed.  I was ready to burst.  Happy’s not the word – elated maybe.  I immediately notified my one and only Internet friend, and then started assessing my new situation, and my big transition list  – the unattainable was now, suddenly, attainable; no longer a dream, my new reality.  So, as a result, I am now more anxious than ever to hear from my doctor – we have a whole bunch of new stuff to talk about; if I can get SRS, then I’ll get SRS.

Got Me An Electrologist

Yes, today, after very little research and no second opinion necessary, I meet and feel in love with my new electrolysis; she has competitive pricing for my area, has a great location, can meet almost any regular schedule that works for me, and most importantly, I just immediately liked her.  So I’m looking forward to starting ASAP.

Coming Out Time Line

This weekend I’m going to get my ears pierced and start looking into how I might want to get my hair done – I literally have hair down to my ass, so I have a nice palette to work with.  So, with these changes to my presentation and with the slowly evolving changes from electrolysis, and my need to explain to everyone where I’m spending all my time, I really need to move up my coming out timeline; I’m still not sure how this is going to go, but I’ll keep you posted.

Time to go, but this not to myself; Think of a Title at the End of the Article!  I need to remember this bit of wisdom from my college days.  When I come up with a title before I sit down to write something I generally write to the title.  If the title is “All About Kitten”, well I pretty much can’t talk about replacing gaskets on my faucet.  But if I wait to name the thing after I’m finished writing it, the writing is more free and flowing and titles are usually more creative.

Love, Hugs, Kisses,
